Hi, I’m Kristi
New England-born, California-based.
I find patterns, untangle problems, and translate complex topics into accessible, human-centered experiences through language, service, and design.
With a foundation in hospitality and a background in UX workflows and digital product development, I bring a unique perspective to design.
Empathy and seeing the forest for the trees are my superpowers.
The method to my madness
I’ve always had a knack for quickly connecting with people. I grew up in a family of academic, yet “outdoorsy,” engineers. As the “people person” of the family, I often found myself translating complicated topics into accessible, “everyday” language, and vice versa.
My childhood was spent exploring; engineering our way up rock walls and summiting mountain peaks. Maybe it’s from those early adventures navigating the elements, but I’ve always been drawn to complex challenges—especially the “Type 2 Fun” kind that require both grit and creativity.
Where service meets design
My career began in Hotel Management, but creative and intellectual constraints led me to the Design industry. The shift allows me to blend my analytical brain with my passion for human-centered solutions.
Fun facts and life quests
At one point I had a collection of over 40 lobster bouys. I am now down to 2.
I am a Reiki Master in the traditional Usui Shiki Ryoho Reiki method.
I’ve been an athlete my entire life, growing up as a competitive gymnast and diving for a Division 1 college team. If I had ever "gone pro," though, it would have been for rock climbing.
I spent a year traveling solo around the world in 2010. I’m fascinated by cultural differences (and similarities).
I baked my brother’s wedding cake and love to challenge myself in the kitchen.
I’ve been a barre fitness instructor for almost 15 years, teaching a couple of classes each week. It’s grounding and a rewarding way to stay connected with my community.
In 2023, I took a self-guided backpacking trip to Baffin Island in northern Canada with five friends. The adventure resulted in first ascents while documenting terrain untouched by humans in hundreds of years.
What I’m doing now
I’m consulting and looking to join a team of smart, curious people solving interesting challenges. I’m also learning how to train AI, raising a puppy, and have started a non-profit organization focused on health and wellness education.
